EPHEMERAL CARTOGRAPHY
The paintings on paper in this body of work were made based on many landscapes, but they have one thing in common: they each contain pigment or minerals that I foraged from the landscape. They might contain salt, carbon, oak gall tannins, red or yellow ochre, chalk, or serpentine. The minerals and pigments serve as a link to the place they were found, a sort of tracing or mapping to the source.
